It's that time of year again, fellow anglers.The 11th annual "Cast for kids foundation" lake Calaveras event is coming up soon. This event benefits 40 special needs children each year.We feed the children and their families breakfast and lunch, provide all the children with clothing caps, rods, reels, tackle boxes,etc.We stock a cove with hungry channel catfish and let the children have fun. here is a link to a recent event http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tH3gDb9O1HU

To help raise funds to sponsor children, several guides have generously donated a full days guide trip to be auctioned off. Ray Hanselman on Amistad, Jim Edwards, Robert McFarland, Jay Grieshaw and myself (jim Behnken) on Falcon. We will do this as we have in past years. Anyone who wishes to bid on a trip simply send me an e-mail to jimbehnken@hotmail.com. in it put your name, phone number and what amount you wish to bid on a trip.The top bids are placed in a hat with the guides names. It is a random selection process. We will run the auction for 10 days or so here on the forum. after that i will draw the names and contact everyone who won with their guides name,

if any other guides wish to join please let me know. i contacted all those who participated in the past i believe. also if anyone wants to simply sponsor a child or just donate to the event, it will of course be very much appreciated. the cast for kids foundation is a 501c3 non profit agency and all bids are tax deductible.

What are the dates for the trips?

You schedule a date with your guide after the bidding ends and you are paired up. I have done this the past two years.....it is a good deal for a great cause!
