So what is a good level to release to paddle without having to drag a kayak down there?

My daughter and I went down there today. I don't believe they were generating or releasing while we were there. When they are genning you'll see the flow go up to 2000 to 6000 cfs and the river will rise 4 to 6 feet. Looking at the flow & height it's just a very slight rise so far. Looks more like the discharge from the gas fired electric plant to me. The fishing was pretty good, but no big ones for me this time.

To answer your question Shaun, it depends on where exactly you are going down there, if you are paddling back up or not, and how much your yak drafts. I prefer it low & slow like it is now. A bit of dragging here and there doesn't bother me a bit. If you want to just ride the current down, no dragging, and you're not paddling back up...I would wait a month or so & watch for the flows and height I mentioned. They'll likely get to generating regularly then when we get to using our a/c units and the electricity demand goes up.

Never mind, the flow is going up pretty rapidly I see now. Showing over 600cfs & a 2' rise at 10pm.

Give me a shout anytime. If I can't join you, maybe I'll be able to tell you what they're biting on wink
