Got a question about Battery's.. I have heard people say a battery is a battery. That's not true.. I currently running Starter for my 175HP and electronics off a 850 CCA battery.. and my 24 volt 70 lb thrust off 2X 1000 cca batteries. I also use a Guest ChargePro Dual Battery Charger 10 am charger non stop.. its shuts off when charged. Well.. I went to orileys auto and tested batteries.. Both 1000 CCA batteries are bad.. I dont understand this.. So is it reserve power (higher number)that I need to look for or CCA's? guess I need to replace trolling batteries but I want to get whats best.

CCA (MCA)Cold (or Marine) Cranking Amps numbers (in amps) relate to high currents needed for cranking big gas powered motors.
Most boat motors require 800 or more CCAs in a starting or cranking battery.
RC numbers Reserve Capacity (in minutes) relate to running a trolling motor for a long time.
Buy a trolling motor deep cycle battery with many RC minutes....almost 200 minutes in each Trolling motor battery are needed by most trolling motors to allow them to run most all day.
