Alright. So I'm headed to fork tonight for the weekend and weather won't be ideal. It's calling for rain on Saturday and I personally have not always faired well. We will be fishing a secluded area that suprize fly doesn't get a lot of pressure. I know the fish are wet but with the changing pressure and probably wind direction how do y'all approach this type of weather. We aren't fishing jc outdoors just out to have fun.

I prefer to wear a slicker suit to keep dry. Sorry I had to do it. I fish like I normally would and usually fair well fishing in light rains let it start lightning and you won't find this fat boy on the water.

Get a good rain suit and a lot of spinnerbaits and jigs.

Prepare for a monsoon and anything less will be comfortable.

when a rain system comes through and clouds up the sky and wind starts changing direction, i like to pick up search baits and cover lots of water as i believe these conditions tend to activate fish and scatter out chasing bait and feeding, however this time of year if your part of the water has a large number of fish on beds i would go with whatever you would on good weather day just maybe darken your colors a little and fish it more aggressively. if pitching a jig or creature hop it a little more. that's how i'd handle it and on fork right now it's hard to beat a chatterbait or trap for moving baits, good luck.

I've always done well with a moving bait when it was raining in the spring. Try a spinnerbait or chatterbait or squarebill and go chunking. Stay shallow in 1-6' and you'll catch em.

A comfortable rain suit is my first suggestion. Trying to wear a slicker or some kind of rain gear that doesn't fit good will immediately cause you problems. Frogg Toggs have a piss poor hood on them. It covers about half of your head.

Other than the rain gear, I don't change much of anything. I do anticipate a better bite once it starts raining but I still stick to my same game plan.

barefoot until you bury a hook in your foot or toe, then definitely try shoes next time
