Bass fishermen don't lie; they just exaggerate. I said my bag five weighed "close" to sixty. More like 58. Look at the archives; it was Feb. 26, 2008. The other trip was Feb. 20, 2009. If I knew how, I'd post pics. Terry is a straight shooter. Heck, he doesn't even fish. I do not know who that Gil Wright guy is, but I bet he could tell you some stories.

Dang nice mount. To catch that many big fish in a lifetime, a year, a month, or a day would be a dream. Congratulations to the fisherman. Baccarac is a great fishery. I would love to give it a go. Some of you guys know Matt Williams. Here is an article from 2006 that, I believe, references these fish.

THANKS FOR SHARING:
CLARIFICATION
HOPEFULLY THIS HASBEN THREAD AND POST SUPPORTED BY MATT WILLIAMS ARTICLE WILL HELP CLARIFY THE FACTS AS TO THE JASON LORIS 5 FISH STRINGER-
WHY THIS INFORMATION WAS NOT ORIGINALLY POSTED IS A MYSTERY TO ME- I WISH EVER SO MUCH THAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN- OBVIOUSLY WHAT FISH WERE CAUGHT IS AN AWESOME ACCOMPLISHMENT.
HOWEVER READ IT AND IF YOU BELIEVE MATT WILLIAMS WELL KNOWN OUTDOOR WRITER THEN IT WILL SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT. INTERESTINGLY WILLIAMS STATES THAT "THE LORIS DID AUTHENTICATE AND PHOTOED WITH DIGITAL SCALE THE FISH CAUGHT"
HERE IS AN EXCERPT FROM THAT ARTICLE STATING TWO 5 STRINGER FISH WERE CAUGHT IN 2005 AND 2006 BY LORIS. TO WIT: QUOTE:
"It is hard to believe a fishing story getting any better. But it did, particularly for Louisianian's Alan and Jason Loris.

In eight days of fishing, the Loris' caught more trophy class largemouths than most gringo anglers could expect to catch in 10 lifetimes.

Alan's heaviest bass weighed 14.3, 11.7, 11.54, 10.2, 9.3, 8.6 and 7.3. Jason's top fish included a 14.14, 14.2, 12.3, 10.14, 8.6 and pair of 8.4s. The anglers documented the fish with digital photos and released each one.

Interestingly, the 14.3 and 10.14 were caught minutes apart, while fishing from the bank during the wee hours of the night, just around the corner from the lodge.

"It got pretty windy out there and we couldn't hold the boat like we wanted to," Jason explained. "That's when we decided to get out on an island and cast from shore. We didn't catch a bunch of fish. But the bass we did catch were good ones, all on Texas rig lizards."

Amazingly, the Loris' 2005 trip turned out even better than this year's big bass fiasco. Last May they reeled in an army of giants over a two-week period. The list included a 15.7, 15.2, 14.1, 13.7, 13.4, a pair of 13.2's, two 12.6's and one 11.

"We lost track of the number of 6-8 pounders we caught," Alan Loris said. "For numbers of big bass, Baccarac has got to be the best in world right now."

That is a pretty tall statement when you consider the reputations of other Mexican heavy hitters like El Salto and Comedero. But after three days of getting beat up by hard-hitting bruisers, I have to agree. Baccarac is back! " UNQUOTE

Bob Crupi had a 70+ pound sack on Castaic one day. I believe it was the day he caught his 22 pounder. The funny thing is he stayed out and fished longer. I think I would have headed to the dock with a 22 in the live well.

Yes, it is possible. Rare? Sure. But possible. And Crupi's catch is well documented in case you care to check. wink

I don't see how you would have the livewell space to keep that
many fish alive if they were caught in a day. I think you would have some of them die. No comment on the stringer but a near 15 pound average is hard to swallow.

Guys I spoke with Bucky earlier today and his defense I think he was just reporting the news as it was given to him...I think the guy that sent him this information could have done a better job of clarifying the facts, dates, year, one day or multiple days, etc...But none the less, Buckey seems like a good guy who just got some bad data and was excited to share with everyone...Problem is he didnt realize it until after the fact. Granted he is trying to help drive some business for what seems like a great lodge on a dynamite fishery, so yall take it for whats its worth.
