I know this topic has came up recently. I have a question I bought some 20lb braid SX-1 and was curious what pound fluoro would match up with it. Does the line diameter need to match up for Alberto knot or do I need to just worry about lb test that I want. I was thinking 10 or 12 lb shooter for the leader. Spinning setup with dobyns 703sf

Match the diameter for best results. If one of the lines are smaller it will be more likely to slip. I just use straight 8lb invizx on my spinning gear.

I use 30 lb braid and 20 lb invisx. I fish it on a 7'0" mh spinning rod. I don't have any problems at all with this setup. Seems like overkill but you can't really fish 8 lb line in the places I throw a shakey head. The only thing finesse about how I fish it is the size of the bait itself.

Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!

15-20lb braid and 12-15lb leader. That will do ya just fine. But if im just fishing rocks or more open water I like 10lb floro.
