I'm not saying they are the best brand but I just bought several Cotton Cordell rattle traps at Walmart for $1.96 a piece.

You don't need to replace your entire stock at once. Buy a few of your most productive bait in your most productive color. Will save you some money in the long run when you realize you don't need one in every size in every color.
Sorry again for the loss.

I like to have a little bit of everything in my trap box, lot of times I'll just go through them until one gets bit, sometimes they like one brand over another for whatever reason.

Those H2O "Rattlin' T's" work pretty good. They're on clearance too!

I like Yozuri lipless cranks. But the truth is, unless you buy junk or some strange color, you can catch fish with all of them. I think fish respond more to something whizzing by than the wobble or color.

I have a Largemouth at home....sometimes she lets me go fishing.

I personally like the red eye sahd and the XR50 and 75K. They were on sale at Dicks last time I was there for $2.29 each. Also check your local Wally Mart as they have them there too on occasion.

I like the red-eye shads and the old Bill Lewis, but I recently picked up a kit of 5 H20 traps at Academy for $9.99. I tied one on for the first time this past Friday and caught my first DD. I went back to Academy the next day and bought $80 worth haha.

All brands have a time and place. Some run deeper than others, I chose by color and running depth.EX. Rattle Trap shallow,Excalaber midrange, Spro deeper range.

I'm a huge fan of the Xcalibur One Knockers, reminds me of the old Cordell Spot before rattles replaced everything.
I think fish become sensitive to sounds that represent pain.

I would just buy the colors that have worked for you best. Fish aren't that complicated. Shad, bream and craw patterns will do, couple of different sizes.

And greedily devour the treacherous bait.

I fish the xcal's more than anything, but know fish with a guy who throws the Spro Aruku shad, and he's caught some great fish on them.
