Each day on the water holds its own unique experience with its own charm. It is an adventure into the unknown. The charm is revealed by experiencing the moment as it unfolds in the present, like opening a gift. A common question I receive is “when is the best time to come fishing”, “Now” I always reply. As the Now unfolds, it may be revealed that now is not the time when you catch the most fish or the biggest fish, but NOW is always the best time to enjoy fishing. With my service it is not my goal to fulfill expectations but to eliminate them. I offer you a gift of which I know not what is inside, together we will unwrap it, moment by moment and it is my intent for all to appreciate whatever surprise is revealed to us. I have dropped my expectation to receive payment so you can drop you expectation to catch fish and find a deeper joy on our adventure onto the water. After our trip, if you wish, you may give in return what you feel is an appropriate exchange of energy, money or trade, all that is given is a blessing and is received with deep gratitude.

My postings are my song, like bird song, they are an invitation, inviting you to come fishing with me as friends. I call out to fill my books so I may continue to do something I love to support my family. It has become typical for this song to include a fishing report of the past to create an expectation that this may be so tomorrow or any day in the future. It may be so or perhaps not but each trip is a blessing, some are blessed with good fishing and some blessed with a lesson in humility. The trips this past week have been blessed with large fish ranging up to 14 pounds as well as good numbers of box fish. Perhaps this will be the case for your trip also, hold the intention with an open hand and be grateful whatever is received.

These fish were caught using 5 inch glow sassys on a 1 ½ oz. head fished along structure in 15-30 ft. of water. Structure on top of structure, like a brush pile on a ledge in the target water depth, are some of the favorite places where these fish live. This time of year you can usually depend on them to be there from day to day. It seems now that the fish are holding along the points and ledges and stump beds all around the lake. I pick an area and focus there for the day, changing it up occasionally to locate bigger fish, and it seems all areas can be productive if you know where to look. Once you’ve found them, go back to it again later and just fish the same spot without trying to graph them first, I have found this to be more productive. I will be using only lures most likely until the end of March. You can book your trip and find out more information about my service at www.stripersinc.com or give me a call and I’ll get you set up.

We had a blast with Brian! He is an awesome guide and gives you a great trip. He knows the lake well and really cares for the fish. All the double digit fish were returned to fight another day! I'll definitely be booking another trip with Brian soon!
