Can you add too much salt into your PVA mix? I put a whole can of salt into a 5 gallon bucket full of mixed stuff. Did I ruin the whole 5 gallon bucket full of it?

I went out 2 times and used this mix and nada. One trip was cut short and one trip was a totally new spot.

If I'm making a whole 5gal bucket of maize, I'll put 2 boxes of salt. I find it better in summer. That's just my opinion. Non-iodized is what I prefer.

I don't think it's the salt; sometimes we just don't catch... frown

I dont believe it to be the salt either. I have always used a lot of salt myself with good success.

I thank God for each day!

Plus, salt is water soluble, so some of that salt is probably dissipating right? Maybe somebody smarter than me can confirm that.

Yes, of course salt is soluable.

Maybe I just had a day of bad luck. The PVA bags I bought were smaller than I thought they would be. I bought the Korda Solidz. They are good bags, but a little smaller than I thought.

Maybe its the mix I put in...
I used a variety of things and maybe it was just too much.

Corn meal
grits
oats
rabbitt pellets
goat pellets
chili pow pow
crushed corn flakes
salt
crushed boilies
bread crumbs

I catch carp in brackish water - I think it would be hard to say that you put too much salt in your pva knowing that. Plus I always heard that salt is a fish attractor...

PB Buff - 56lbs
PB Common - 26lbs
PB Mirror - 7lbs
PB Grasser - 45lbs
PB Koi - 10lbs

What i meant by that is, since salt is soluble, you probably can't over salt. Its just going to fill the water around your mix with nice salty attractant.
