Fished it Tuesday from 7a-7p. Water temp was 56* at put in and 61* at take-out. Water still had a stain to it but looked much better than from my previous trip 3 weeks earlier.

First cast of the day resulted in an 8-10lb fish wrapped up on a stump 15 yards in front of me. I could see the fish flopping all around and before I could get to it.....it pulled off. That would be the only fish I saw the entire day. I fished shallow from 7-11a and then went deep from 11-6p and then shallow again from 6-7p. Previous trips the shad were being pushed up shallow in the evenings and I could locate fish......no shad and no blow-ups this trip. Didn't get a single bite in the cedars. I fished some of the channels in 25-35FOW without luck as well. I saw some bait suspended off a few points in 30-40FOW but was never able to locate any active fish around them. It was a pretty tough trip. I am thinking the fish finally decided to start their transition and are in the process of moving out as the bait does. I think it will take them a few weeks to settle in......but the more of these cold fronts that occur the quicker it will happen. The water was 10* cooler this trip than it was just 3 weeks earlier when I was there.

I plan to spend some time there this winter focusing on targeting those deeper water fish. I've always been a bank beater......so it will be good to get out and learn to trust my electronics and put together a pattern.

Everything I am hearing is that it has been very slow for most. I am itching to try it but between work and all the slow reports, I have not been in 5 weeks. Maybe it will pick up soon.

Still looking for a double digit.

Well, at least you didn't get skunked like i did the last trip. Gonna try it tomorrow. Thinking about headed down by the dam this trip and give it a try. Haven't been down lake the last few trips.

LMAO.....very true. The rock wall on the right of the dam where it makes the 90* turn headed back towards main lake.

Didn't go. Decided not to fight the wind today. Probably missed a big bite. My wife has some honeydos for me anyway. Maybe next week.

Went Saturday and ended up with 13 fish, 3 of them were whites that we drove up on at dark when we were about to leave at kennedy. The others came from main lake and Turkey Bend, Salt cedars and backs of small creeks, they had baitfish stacked in 1 little creek in a ft of water. 10 large mouth all in 5ft and less. Biggest was a 4 lber, water temp was 59 at launch and 63 when we left at 6:15. was a fun trip.

looks like the temp has fallen about a degree from my last trip. I can't wait until in gets a little colder so I can go drag a 18" worm on every hump I can find!!!
