Has anybody ever tried that? It seems to me it would better balance the boat out. I'm a big guy and I sure dont need any help holding the back of the boat down!!

Most people don't use a trolling motor because of the purist thing and or you you have to register the yak with the state then.

I've never seen a trolling motor attached to the bow of a kayak. I'm not sure many kayaks have enough surface area to do so. Why don't you put the battery in the front hatch and run wires to the back for the trolling motor? That would help keep the yak better balanced.
