appreciate you taking the time to teach catch and release to your son. Its difficult for most young(and old) people to release such a nice fish. Congrats

My two boys are truly obsessed with fishing! If they are not fishing they are watching it on TV or reading about it in magazines.

Called the tpwd and they said without a measurement on photo they could not recognize as a record. I sent them photos and they were going to look at issuing some kind of award to him. Son is just happy he was able to catch it and release it in good health.

I did hold the fish up with tail touching ground and the nose touched my chin. That is 64 inches. Looking at the conversion tables it probably would have got the State record and surely the Lewisville record.

Next time dad will bring the tape measure.
