I have assembled a group of 4 guys and had, or so thought, scheduled a trip to the Baffin Bay area for 3 days of fishing with a guide. Everyone has taken vacation from work, saved $, purchased clothing, licenses and other essential items but this so called guide contacted me yesterday to inform me he was out-of-town (non emergency) and would not be available, this trip was planned and scheduled with him 3 months prior. So due to the guides poor planning and lack of concern for customers we now are looking for another guide, I know its short notice but if someone could suggest an alternative guide please let me know, fishing Oct 24th through the 26th.

Try Jon Fails for site casting to Redfish and Noe Garza for a meat haul.

Well Im not one to bash or badmouth people so Im reluctant to say but I do not wish this situation on anyone else, the guide is Cpt Mike Dakil.

We are wanting to fish around Corpus, Baffin Bay or Port A area but right now we may take anything we can get. Everyone put in too much effort preparing for this trip to cancel totally!

Jon is an excellant guide and will put you on fish. With this short notice you may have to utilize several guides over those three days.

If the original guide is at fault, he should be the one helping you set up replacements and should be arranging a discount as well. Just my opinion.

exactly. you need to make sure he knows how displeased you are, and he needs to be helping to rectify the situation.

That being said, I hope you find someone to take you guys out. Good luck.

We were able to find a replacement guide, Roger Sherman in Rockport, TX. From what Ive discovered Roger has been guiding for many years. After receiving the call from the original guide I was ill to think I was gonna have to inform the gang we were not going fishing but the trip is still a go, just a different guide and I think this may very well be a blessing. Woohoo fishing time and everyone is excited!
