The last line of the first article tells the story.
"If all goes well, the lake should be ready in about 15 years."

Some "Big Names" told us that the lake would be silted in in 15 years... I have hunted in those bottoms for many years and I believe they might be right.

Here is the lake that has me fired up! http://www.ntmwd.com/bois_dArc.htmlI've done lots of the land surveying for this project and man.... It is going to be a beast! I think it will be a cross between Ray Roberts and Fork

The Lake by Bonham has no timber to speak of from the Satellite picture.

Ralph Hall will be a mud hole Like Cooper , unless of course the metroplex slows down on water useage. Bois d' arc might be greatness though.

The question i have is "Will Bonham and Bois d'arc be joined? or will this be a similar situation to cypress & sandlin on a smaller scale?"

They will not be joined. Bois dark will back up to the dam of Lake Bonham though. Rumor has it that they will not clear cut from boisdark west, but clear everything east and north to the dam for rec use.

Two Words "Boat Lanes" So I was reading the internet articles on the new reservoirs, and every one of them is negative, saying conservation and using existing water such as Texoma and Toledo Bend is the answer... Yet there hasn't been a major reservoir built in 30+ years in Texas, and they are predicting the population increases in texas to double in the next 50 years with almost 5 million in the next 10 years... Seems to me that without a better infrastructure system to move water and more storage capacity things could get really bad in the near future...
