Man, I forgot how much attitude river carp have. I fished the guad on thursday and caught 4 fish that may have combined to weigh 30#...but man did they FIGHT! I had more fun reeling in those little 8-10#ers than I did the last 30# buff I caught!
The little ba$tards can PULL!

PB SM Buffalo........ 53 lbs
PB Grasser........... 48 lbs 4 oz
PB Blue cat.......... 17 lbs (caught on maize)

What kind of tackle were you using? UL is the best for the river fish.
pb common 34-6
pb float common 7lbs 8oz
pb mirror 17-9 lbs
pb Grasser 38 lbs
pb buff 42 lbs 4oz
pb blue 10lbs 9oz
pb channel 10lb 4oz
pb lmb 10lbs 2oz
pb shad 16in @ 1-1/2 lbs

I was using my euro gear. Those 10#ers woulda straight OWNED UL gear. I had to go up and down river as it was with my euro gear.

I saw only 1 20+ out of about 50+ carp I have seen caught there. The problem is limited access.
Most of them are 8-12#
