I have a 16' jon boat that has 2 bench seats installed - but I want swivel posts into seat bases so that I can move the seats around. One position while running and another position while hunting.

I don't feel that the bench seat is sturdy enough to hold a person by just attaching the seat base to it.

Does anyone have ideas on how to secure/stabilize these? Pics would help. Thanks

I put 3/4" ply under the full length of my bench seats. Paint the ply and it's not likely to rot. Mine's been doing fine since 1992.
