Well some times you just got to fish... Went out early a.m. caught 3 nice crappie... (new to crappie world, so a little slow) it was a too choppy for us to go where we wanted. then went into work... got an itch to go out again so left work early and hit the lake about 5 pm. tried for crappie, caught none so we headed out to the old dam. anchored at about 6 foot of water and through silver slabs with fly 18 inches up into about 15 foot of water and slowly retrieved... pretty much every cast we caught sandies... only 8 solid keepers... really appreciate all the help i have received on tff... here is pics of the cooler and our little boat... if you ever see us out there come say hi! cheers!

Sorry I missed you yesterday at the cut out! Here is a picture of my wife and one of our(her) fish yesterday just down the dam from the cut out. Nice ice chest filler!

lawdawg, that is a neat looking rig. You get what, about 80mpg with that motor?

Well, truth be known, even on rough days you can almost always find sheltered areas with good fishing. May take a little more legwork on finding a launch site and so forth.

I use to have a river boat I used in Ks, Mo and Ok. I just couldn't find any place close to my house river wise. The Brazos is great but 2 hours away. The Kiamichi is great but 3 hours away and the Illinois is great but 4 hours away. The Trinity around the DFW area is just nasty IMO.
