Is Aquilla safe to run? Any hazards, etc? I have never been there and don't want to deal with a stump coming through my hull.

Tons of stumps on the upper end. The lower half is not to bad just watch out for underwater islands

Aquilla is chocked full of obstacles. Just had my prop reworked last week because of it, and I thought I knew where to run. Stumps, rocks, and extra long, extremely shallow points are abundant

also there are parts of the old bridge on the east arm in striking distance, had the lower unit rebuilt after hitting that. i was running the channel using the lakemaster maps and kapow.

If you just take it easy you might really enjoy the lake. Never too much pressure and holds some good quality fish. Used to fish it quite a bit when it first opened up and my parents had a place at Whitney. Talked with a guy who was up there not too long ago who has caught some good fish there lately.

Old bridge? East Arm? You talking about the old road bed that parallels the high bridge by the ramp? That road bed/point is shallow and we always stay way right when leaving the ramp and heading towards the dam but I have never heard of a bridge or been on the lake low enough for a bridge there to come into play. Tell us more!

Yep the bridge were the old toad would cross the main channel there. Dont know if the whole bridge is there or just some pillars. Was running spot on in the channel at 18 ft deep and then pow. Checked the tpw map and google earth and no sign of a obstacle. But lance at fun and sun tells me the bridge or parts of it are still there. I will try to fire up my HB tomorrow and see if i can pull my path and post it.
