As big as you can cast or paddle out we use a 1 to 3 lb piece of stingra. or cut bull mullet

I use a cast net I catch alot of large mullet and use a mustard 13/0 circle hook

....catch some big Mullet in the cast net. Cut off the head and tail leaving the guts and put them on a circle hook....

Mullet or other chunks of fish fished on bottom. You can buy stingrays from most bait shops in Galveston too. Easier to buy a couple, throw out a line for stingrays while you are shark fishing and just keep the assembly line going of having bait available for yourself.

I would just go buy the stingrays honestly, you can buy one for like 3 bucks or so, and a giant one for like 10 bucks. I have found that squid works the best, personally for me, for catching stingrays.
