Got out this morning with Hard Rain looking to fill the freezer with sandies. The bite was tough and slow. No topwater action any place we looked. Stopped around Twin Poles (which is now just one pole) and tossed some slabs.

Then Jim managed one also

Next thing I know is Jim is hooting and hollering about his drag being stripped and his pole is bent in half. I reach for the net and here she comes a nice 18 1/2 hybrid.

No sooner had I gotten the net put down, ny rod bends like there's a train on the other end....and HELLO

24 inches and 7 pounds.... banana

Got a few other short hybrids out of the same area. The they pretty much shut down for the day.
It ended up being a good day to be out even though we didn't fill the livewell.

First pic is a Hybrid unless I am missing something. It looks like a lot of fun! Thanks for the report.

Was it triangular or elongated?

It was in the mouth.... grin didn't examine it that closely Zach. Saw just one and took it for a big sandy.

Sometimes the angle, light and quality of photo can make a sandie look like a hybrid.....he said he checked the tooth patch.....all comments should have ended then.

Nice job and great fish!

Thank you sir... thumb
We did indeed check all fish caught for length and tooth patches when questionable. It's amazing how people are such experts over a photo and a fish they have not seen in person. Had there been any doubt about it being a hybrid back into the water it would have gone.
