Well I might as well post a slow day for me on Hubbard since we all have them. Decided to go fishing Saturday because watching the weather it was supposed to be a clam nice day. And Sunday is supposed to be wind a howling. Well got out there and the winds was NOT calm early in the morning.
Ran into Sea Pro Todd and his gang at the boat ramp and we all headed to Robertson park because of the rumor that the top water early in the mornings. Saw Mr John Varner and his clients and several other boats waiting for it to happen. -- It never did bang cry.
So everyone split up and went all over the lake. Never did get any calls so I assumed it was a slow day. I checked all the spots that I knew and marked a lot of fish and no bites. Ended up at the burned out bridge and ran into Pat ( fillet maker ) and we chatted for a spell. So I went over to the red barn and the wind was blowing good. so I got out of there and headed to some more spots on the east side. abd got one yellow and one 4 inch catfish. Finally the wind calmed down enough for me to hit the west side of the lake and ended up getting 8 yellows, 4 under size hybrids, a drum and that little catfish . No sand bass for me today.

On the way in ran into Todd and Frank and then headed home.
Good to see John, Todd, Rick, Cody, Pat and Frank today despite the slow fishing.
Just goes to show you you can't always be in the right spot all the time and sometimes the fish won't bite. Maybe next weekend smile

Thanks for the post Keith. I just posted under Yaffe's post that it was a slow day yesterday. Did finally manage a couple hybrids and about 20-sandies but it was for sure slower... It ought to pick back up with the new moon rising! Talk to you soon...

Great seeing you at the dock and on the lake brother Keith! Yep, Saturday was a "clam" nice day for an August day in Texas stir thanks to the North wind. But the fish were "clam" shut also and we "mussel" to many spots but only managed to catch little yellers and dink sandies rolfmao
Buddies were hunting all corners of the lake and my phone was silence for the most part. I blame the Ladies Man and his sidekick, Dr. Whiplash for not fishing Saturday, cuz they usually can find them, lol!

Oh, twin brother did call when he was on a nice school, but my crew only caught two nice sandies there and the school dissappeared. Thanks for the call twin brother grin

We'll get them next time. Planning to take my Pastor out this Thursday and my son and his three little cousins on Friday. Good luck guys!

I havent had that many in my boat in a long time (7 total, 4 kids and 3 dads)! With school almost starting back, I figured a way to get my son away from the video games and out on the water, is to invite his best friend fishing! But best's little brother wanna come too and best friend's friend, and their dads had to come too. So you get the picture...SeaPro's Day Care Service? LOL. I didnt get to fish much and had a handful. And I also discoverd I better not quit my day job grin

Hey guys, I can beat that. My buddy wanted to hit Tawakoni for his birthday so we woke up at 4:30 to do a Wal-Mart trip and go catch bait. As my buddy JV pointed out, that was our best bet for some big fish over there.

So we loaded up with shad and didn't get a single bite all day. We did the Holiday Humps with everyone else. We tried the dam, all of the old spots I had marked, etc., and nada.

It was humbling as it usually is during this month.

JB
