Got some time off and I'm looking to make a midweek trip to Oklahoma. Anyone know what lake is on right now up there? I wouldn't mind getting into some smallmouth up there either. Suggestions?

what part of the state do you want to fish. I the southeast part of the state Arbuckle is very tough right now,Murray is so-so, Broken Bow, Sardis and Mcgee Creek are ok. In the northeast Grand Lake is always good. You also have Tenkiller,Fort Gibson and Hudson. Dripping Springs can be real good also. Murray for numbers of smallmouths.
God gave me 2 ears and 1 mouth so I listen twice as much as I talk

Are you kidding? Why in the hell would you want to come to our gar holes when you have soooo much better fishing in Texas? I fish Arbuckle and Konawa and it has sucked all year. Been taking 8 or so pounds to win a jackpot, and these are guys with brushpiles that have been on the lake for a looong time. The fish will start schooling at Konawa around the end of August really good, till then it will be tough.

Murray is awesome. Place to stay is oklahoma bed and berth. Floating cabins on the lake. You can park your boat at the front door

If I were to go back to Oklahoma and fish, I would go to Grand Lake. I would jerk stick baits under boat docks or fish Slider headed 4" worms on the bridge pilings to 7-10' no matter how deep the bottom.

I would go to Norman and look at all the National Championship Trophies they have in football. It's more than all the schools in Tx. combined. After all it's really kinda hot to go fishing, but if you must and want smallmouth action I would try Murray early with a topwater and as the sun gets higher switch to a 4" senko type bait. Have fun and good luck.

Contact fishan, that's who I use from the forum. We always catch big bass (largemouths) all be it. At the end of the day though, usually a four pound average. My biggest is pushing 10 lbs. He is located in Ardmore.
