Got out this morning on Lewisville with Chickenman. We are cruising looking for fish, either on the surface or on the Hummingbird. We spot a group of 2 or 3 boats fairly close to each other and idle over, (if I were going any slower we wouldn't be moving) the this big fat no shirt wearing slob of a man (I use the term losely) starts yelling at us that he's fishing "here" and he starts chunking lures in our direction and yelling "is that close enough". Thing is we had to be at least 50 feet from his fat self and we were harding moving. Lewisville is Loserville for the most part on the weekends.

I guess I am just too spoiled at Hubbard. There are plenty of boating jerks but they typically are not fisherman. Sorry for your problem Frank I. Something like that can just ruin an otherwise good day.

I fished Lewisville ONCE when I lived in Keller - probably 1987-1988 - and I learned VERY quickly this lake would NEVER see me EVER again and I've been true to that since.

We were on G'vine couple weeks ago and we were trolling about 100 yards off shore. Looked over and there was 2 lady game wardens passing between me and the bank. They were going slow, when a big play boat pulling a wake boarder goes between us crusing about 35mph. You guessed it big ticket + the wake boarder didn't have a life jacket on. As we went by we both tipped out hats at the fools.

Sounds to me like someone needed an attitude adjustment. One of you younger guys get the boat info and nudge your way in next to the jerk at the next boat show. I would do it myself but last year I gave a needed adjustment and the next morning found myself at the Chiropractor and on a heating pad for 2 weeks. My adjusting days are fleeting other than my own spine. LOL

Sorry to hear that. Really burns me up just reading it.

Good to hear that Mrbassin. Frank don't let people like that ruin your day. Ignore them and find yourself a new spot. I go to the lake to relax not to run into problems. He was probably hadn't caught anything all day and took it out on you.

Had something similar happen to me a few months back on Lake Palestine. Myself and another TFF'er were lucky enough to have located a huge school of feeding magnum sand bass on a hump in 20 fow off to our side about 50 ft out with side imaging sonar. We set up with our i-pilot spot lock outside the school and proceeded to catch fish every cast for probably an hour. With every fish caught it seemed like they became more aggressive. Well eventually someone out riding around sees us and comes to take a look and he is headed staight at the school of fish. We start yelling at him to kill his motor (looked to have a functional trolling motor on his boat) and he looks at us like we are complete jerks. He is only idling but as he passes over the hump it was like someone just turned out the lights at the party. No profanities or name calling but both boats irritated and if the situation were to happen again tomorrow would probably have the same outcome. Guess we were the fat shirtless guys that day. Some problems are hard to fix.

We fish there a LOT. Unfortunately there are a few like that but for the most part everyone get's along. I doubt it is different on any other lake really with that much pressure.

We were 40 + yds away from the yelling catfishing fella.

I had to talk Frank out of doing circles around his boat grin (seriously).

You got within fifty feet of someone while they were fishing? That's very rude! Way to close and you owe him a apology. If you were running your big motor within fifty feet of someone while they were fishing you deserve to be runover by the karma bus.

To be within casting distance of someone while they are fishing is too close and I can cast quite far. Gas motors need to be shut down one hundred yards away.

Take a fish boating today!

That is ashamed. I fish Lewisville all the time and we are famous for our on the water boat shows. Most folks play nice and it is very common to idle up within 50 feet to jump on some surface action. I have learned a lot fishing and b-s'ing with guys fishing around me in other boats. I have always felt it was the nature of whites and hybrids on Lewisville.... However, I have never had anyone mouth off to me. Come back on a weekday when the weekenders are off the water and you may find a better group.
