Buddy of mine wants to sink some in Lake Tyler, and I don't know that lake so was wondering if anybody could help with depth for summertime fishing. He will probably be sinking a bunch of willows, so any recommendations? I said around 20', but not sure.
Thanks for any help.

that lake is not very deep so 20 is about right. It never gets over 26ft or so except a few spots. Good luck

I'm not that familiar with the old (West) lake except for a large hump in the middle of the lake out from Langley Island, might be a good spot for some brush. Now, the new (East) lake, as I remember (20 years ago at least), around mid lake where Old Omen Rd public launch on the West side and Omen Cove on the East side, find the creek channel where it runs between those 2 coves and sink your brush on the ledges of the channel. Some guys used to brush that area regularly and some mighty good crappie could be caught there in the Summer.

that lake is not very deep so 20 is about right. It never gets over 26ft or so except a few spots. Good luck Lake Tyler is 40ft deep in both lakes. You need a new depth finder..lol

I said in a few spots but the majority of it is below 34 ft when its full. I know every inch of that lake and my depth finder is just fine. that lake is not very deep so 20 is about right. When the lake is at full pool it is 40 deep in the creek channel up near the dam in both lakes.

The transducer is too far up on the transom. Mine will read the depth consistently at 65mph. They are very touchy to get it set where you won't knock it off but will read consistently!

I wouldnt exactly call that and average lake depth.
