i like to use them alive most of the time, that is if you can keep them alive and if not cut bait works well also.

they are in a bucket with an aerator currently, you hook thru the lips? or the dorsal fin area?

There is a small cell of rain that should pass over in an hour or so, by the time it passes I'll be at my spot on Lavon bankin it.

Hook them only through the skin just in front of one of the gills. Most of the time flatties attack the bait from the head. Excellent bait and stays alive a long time.

Does anyone keep an aquarium with bait in it...for future use. I was talking to D.C.M. and he told me he knew a couple people did but I was wondering just how many. And where could you buy some live minnows, black saltys, maybe even bullhead, but I can get those outta the ponds at work, minnows too I suppose.

I heard about cutting the spines, so is that to disable the fish a lil and attract other fish... cuz I was kinda thinking it was to not stick yourself when you hook the wiley lil guy.

I don't think flat head have the presence of mind to know wether or not the spines have been clipped off or not. They eat bullheads naturally so clipping the spines is not neccessary.
I thank God for each day!
