Can someone on this thread explain to me how to go about useing the SI & DI in tandem.Dave 905 is too busy to respond and I would like to know how before making this major purchase in the future. What`s the most efficient way to use this technology when you first get on a lake?

Hey Dave, So when you found this and went over it, did you go over it with your outboard? and how did you approach it / fish it? I notice only 11 feet of water so wondering how you went about not spooking them, or do they really not move much when they are packed like that? Thanks in advance!

You can just hit view repeatedly until that screen comes up. If you want to save that screen to a preset button all you do is press one of the 3 buttons and hold it down until it say Shortcut saved. Kinda like setting a car radio station.

Turisman,

I saw it on the side scan and then went over it (idle speed) for the down image. Marked it on the first pass and then made another idle pass to drop a marker. Both times I went past it more than 150 feet before I would turn around. Neither time seemed to have any effect on them.

Dave

Dave,
I just last week upgraded to HB898cSI, and it is amazing the images produced. Like you said, I had passed over a lot of structure before and did not see it. Been working the brushpiles in Sandlin, with good success, at least early in the mornings. Not much luck after it warms up. Waiting on cool weather.... only a few months left!! Thanks for the post. Ken

The lake I've been on the last few times is a private lake. Got lucky enough to be given access to it. There's lots of cover, lots of crappie and no pressure on it. It's not that large so I've been able to cover a good bit of it to find the structure it has.

The unit I have is a hummingbird 898si. As you read from other posts, get the screen that has a big a unit as you can afford. Wish I had the 1197!
