Very nice looking boat. Looks like a factory made boat thumb

Thanks all. She's 19' and the completed hull weighs 1240#. The construction method is composite Plywood/epoxy/fiberglass. Every thing is fiberglassed using epoxy resin so water intrusion is not possible. The entire boat is a one piece monocoque unit. This makes for very light and stiff construction, as well as being unbelievably strong. Here is a link to my build thread starting with a stack of plywood. This is my 3rd boat. It is a very addicting hobby.

Thanks for the nice comments.

It is seriously addicting. We know it as the BBV, or Boat Building Virus. This is my third. I have a ton to do yet, but am already looking forward to my next one. It'll be a while, but dreaming and planning is fun.

To the poster who asked about cost, I didn't keep a close accounting. I probably have close to $4500 in the hull, give or take a little. Everything else comes down to what you want. I went with a new motor and custom aluminum trailer. But you could easily save many thousands with a used motor and trailer. Plus you can do it in stages. I'm launched, but have limited electronics, no trolling motor, swim deck, etc. Those will come, but in the end I'll have no boat payment. smile

The biggest advantage of building your own, is you are in control of the quality. You have only yourself to blame for crappy workmanship. For me the toughest part was the finish work. I didn't really have a good place to painting. It looks good, but the paint is not perfect by any means.

I haven't built a hull from scratch like that, but I have done a full blown restoration. I can fully appreciate the time, dedication, effort, and expense that goes in to such a project. It looks great!!!
