I am trying to take advantage of having to pick up my daughter in Sherman around noon Saturday. I've convinced my wife that we can leave early and fish for a few hours. My prob is that I do not know the lake at all. A friend told me to put in by the dam and fish topwater in the morning. Can anyone confirm that? What is the name of the nearest boat ramp in that area? I'm coming in from the south off 75. Any help would be very much appreciated. Wife won't go if I don't know where we're going!

There is a ramp on both sides of the dam. There are three ramps close to the dam. Eisenhower State park, the ramp at the dam on Texas side you turn left right as you reach the dam itself or cross the dam and you can put in at east Burns runs. That area can be very good just depends on the day and if the fish are on that end on that day. I would take some slabs just to be safe.

Thank you! I"ll throw some slabs as well. Any other spots I should try? Seems like I get my butt whipped every time I bring my wife. She thinks I stop and buy em on the way home because I never seem to catch many when she is with me.

I've looked at some of the post from the past few days, but not many of them are very educational. I will take a look at that other site as well. thanks
