Great catch! cool

They are hard to keep alive with the temps in the low to mid 90's. cry

Jason I don't live in the area...I was visiting family in Avinger for memorial day weekend.

@ redchevy no doubt about it man you really get the full effect seeing me hold that beast. I'm not a large guy...but to put it in perspective...there are deer killed in east texas that don't way 75 lbs.

Congrats on the record. That is the fish of a lifetime. Sounds like you did all you could to keep her alive, either way she did not go to waste and that is all that matters. Great job!

That's crazy, I would have never thought you would catch big ones on gizzards.

Heck of a nice fish. I've seen plenty big cats come out of the Pines having lived near it and fished for several years.Yours is the biggest I've seen come out though.
That story about monster cats at the bottom of the dam/spillway has been around a very long time too. They are "big as a volkswagon" and the divers got out of the water fast because they were scared of being eaten.

You know it surprises me that there aren't many catfish guide services on Lake O The Pines

That same story is said about nearly every major lake.
