i have no problem with that at all. Thank you for you good stewardship that is how it is supposed to be. Cull the smaller fish, let the big ones go. Otherwise you are stuck with nothing but small fish and crappy gene pool.

I agree. This lake has a lot of fish like this if you want to catch one and let it go just get in your truck and go do it.

You wouldnt believe how many bass they can eat saw one at falcon with a 4 or 5 lb bass in its mouth.

That is one beast of a gar. I hope he did more than just take a picture and discard it. That fish is truly worthy of stuffing and treasuring. Would have been amazing to see something like that taken on rod and reel. I can't imagine the fight it could put up and what kind of rod and reel it would take to land it. I know I don't own anything that could handle that.

So, by that logic, you have never taken a big buck? I hunt and fish a great deal too, and I never understood this trophy management thing. If the fish (in this case) is legal, and you want to take it, then take it! If you see a buck you want,and it is legal, drop him! Screw what anybody else thinks! There are WAAAAAY too many apologies made by hunters, and anglers these days.To me,I think it's disrepectful to the OP to condemn him for taking a once in a lifetime trophy. This topic just gets under my skin! Man, I could go on, and on, but there are WAAAAAY too many bleeding hearts on the TFF. In addition, why have all those "huge Bucks" everywhere if your not going to touch them? Makes no sense at all.

The water is there for everyone to enjoy. I bet the guy who caught the thing is really proud of his catch and will tell his grandkids about it one day.
