just read the rules. says that boaters have to stay in one boat.. if we want, can we fish 16 hours on the boat and then the last 8 on the bank??

I have thought about this, and I will make an addendum to the official tournament rules to reflect this. The rules will only be 100% concrete the day of the event. All teams will be presented with a copy of the rules and will be required to sign an agreement in order to participate.

If a boat team wants to switch to bank fishing during the event or has mechanical problems that do not allow them to continue fishing from the boat:

1. The team must notify me before switching to bank fishing.

2. The team must trailer the boat before proceeding to the bank spot.

3. The team must remain the same. No team members are to go on a boat with another team, nor is any boat team going to be allowed to switch members with a bank team.

4. If a team voluntarily switches from boat to bank, they are only allowed to do this one time. There will be no switching back and forth from bank to boat. This will maintain a more level playing field for the teams that are exclusively bank-based.

5. Bank teams are allowed to fish anywhere on the lake provided that they stay together within the specified limits of the rules.

Would teams be allowed to keep some eater sized fish? Am advocate of releasing all bigger ones but would like to put a few in the freezer too.

If you want to keep box fish, by all means. The fish that are brought to the scale will all be released though, so bring a cooler or something for your box fish.
