The fishing on Cooper lake has been off the hook the last few weeks. Me and my clients have been catching BIG numbers of whitebass and hybirds on every trip. The lake has cleared up and the boat traffic is very light.
We have been finding large schools on points and humps. We are catching most of our fish on a cocamoe minnow from moestackleshop.com with eather a 3/4 or 1/2oz head depending on the wind. We are slow rolling in on bottom. The other bait we are using is the 3/4oz godfather spoon also from moes.
The way we are finding these schools is by stoping the big motor before you get to the hump or point and going in on trolling motor or drifting. The motor will spooke them off the humps even in deeper water right now. I have set on some of these schools for up to 2hrs at time without them spooking.

Great report

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Fishing still GREAT on Cooper. Fishing this morning from 630-815 caught around 20 hybirds and no telling how many sandies. Watch for schooling fishing. I may only be one fishing up hitting shad but there is more under him. Ill post more later headed back to lake right now.

Here are a couple more pics from Fri.and Sat. afternoon trips. I fished the same guys both afternoon. Fri afternoon we found the hybirds on main lake humps. Sat they were in less than 3ft chasing shad.

This was the big fish that Jay got on Fri afternoon.

Tony, Jay and Mitchel with ones that was selected for the fish fry Sat afternoon.
