Going to try pins this summer and im trying to gear up can you guys give me any tips for fishing the surf like what line and bait/lures to use in the surf.

i use abu garcia 7000 reels on a 9' rod with 17lbd stren mono on it.. i only fish bottom w/double drop liters.. catch anything from whiten to bull reds and at times shark!! i fish 20 miles down on the beach!! big shell!! i from that neck of the woods and i wish i could get down there more often.. hope it helps you out
