This photo doesn't really do it justice from the back of the rod to the first eyelid is 28 inches. It took me about 15min to land this fish with my 3wt fly rod with a 4lb leader. I was giggling like a little girl when she took the first big run!!

a little size 10 crayfish thing with foam arms to keep it in an upright position

smile and eventually give it all up for duck hunting (or rabbit hunting. No, I'm sure it's duck hunting)

On the matter of that fly, I was examining it and it seems like those foam pincers would tend to keep the tail end up off of the bottom just a little bit. Would look more crawdaddish as well as a bit more weedless.

good stuff. LHD wanted to go this past weekend but i had to back out. But yes, his love affair with duck hunting is hurting his marriage to trash fishing

Those pucker-mouthed carp-fish freak me out something awful, but there's not getting around the fact that's a huge fish and a really cool fly/streamer/tied artificial offering. Nice!

Ugh, now I feel all queasy and a little dirty.
