Stink that is pretty awesome sounding and the fact it's so close blows me away. I am from Lubbock and it's right in the middle of some good fishing. We used to say "Hell yeah, you can drive 300 miles in any direction and be on some good fish"

To be honest I think the biggest cat I have ever caught would go around 10 pounds or so. This is estimated. I have caught a ton of them 3-4 but those 30-50#..... Holy Krap! You would see me smiling like a kid who just reeled in their first fish. I'm serious. I know for the ACAT guys they would be like.......meh. Whatever.

We really need to talk about this spot. The idea of being about to just float down the river sounds like a pretty good day to me. The clarity you describe is unreal. I am used to being in rivers that look like chocolate milk.

I am feeling a LOT better today and I can finally walk pretty well again. Was nervous as heck yesterday about this. I hope I am good to go this weekend. Will hit you up about those good holes. Thanks for the reply. Very exciting to me.

Scott

Hope the rest of you are out getting your arm broke today if you are on the water!

Will do for sure. Is there a place you can launch a 16 ft aluminum? 50Merc? Might be flooded enough right now for a no walk float? What'cha think?

That's cool...... been wet before. I am still jazzed to get out there. What would you think about right where the river feeds the lake? Good spot or ?

Man all y'all talking about fishing the Gabriel makes me home sick. I used to go tubing down from 29 to Rowe Valley back in high school. We'd fish from Rowe Valley to Jonah. Leave north of that to the Georgetown boys. We'd not be to serious about it but would catch a few to 20lbs. Dads place he rented had a mile of river front. Some good holes but access to it was seasonal. When we got serious we'd fish down stream of circleville store. Thought we had boats come check our lines at midnight so we camped out and caught a boat. Best was 48 lbs on a throw line. After that we gave the river back to the poachers and found a new river.
