Hey folks just went down to Sargent for some fishing this first half of spring break. Unfortunately no babes at the beach due to the weather so I had plenty of time to fish. It was quite an eventful trip. Caught a couple of keeper Black Drum, a keeper red, and an eel or two. Some of you may remember my biggest fish ever post of a 44" black drum a couple weeks back. Well this trip was incredible! Caught 2 40"+ black drum on a 10 year old penn reel/ugly stick combo. 12 lb line with a 30 lb leader. Enjoy! Oh almost forgot the one I caught today ended up snapping the net in half once we landed it. Caught everything on live shrimp on bottom rigs. Tried fish-bites, but nothing was hitting 'em. Seemed like more fish were active when the storms were moving through and slowed down when it cleared up.

Nice pictures, glad you had fun.

I"m always catching those dang eels, usually a lot smaller in the back waters, to me they are such a nusiance, even though they are a good fight.

This was the second one we caught. Definitely the biggest one I've ever caught. The first one was probably 2 feet long and decided to completely wrap itself around the line and ended up choking itself out... poor little guy.

Ahh! thats god to see. I'm heading down there tomorrow for the weekend. I take it you caught these drum on the intercoastal? Did you see or hear anything being caught a little further up the creek and in the canals?

Yeah it's my folks place on the ICW. Heard a few people were catching some up Caney Creek, and others getting nothing. Mixed reports though. Best of luck! cheers
