Things are heating up at Benbrook Lake! Fished Tuesday 2/21/12 conditions were almost perfect. Banked it around 5pm Left around 8pm managed to pull 10 nice hybrids. Biggest one of the day was 12lbs, measuring 27". All caught on Flukes shad color, around 5" or so.

How close was the 12 lber, reason i ask is the lake record is 12.75 from 1989

It was right at 12lbs. I have cheap Berkelys round scale, i am sure its not exact.

Were you seeing any Shad along the banks? I didn't see any, threw the net out several times. Most of the time i get lucky with shad at night or early in the morning off the bank. Shouldn't be much longer.

Took a buddy (catfisherman) to catch his very first hybrid. It was priceless! He could of never imagined how hard they fight, loads of fun.

What side of the lake are you fishing? Ive only had luck by the dam or in the creeks when they run up them in the spring.

I have had recent luck out at BB a bunch of 7lbs that has been about the max size wise may I ask where it was you caught that beast
