You would think that since Academy sells all types of GPS, that they would sell map cards. I called 7 different stores in the Houston area and none had ANY. As a matter of fact, several of the stores did not even know what Navionics was. Hmmm.

when we looked we had the same problem, just went to bass pro and found any card you could ask for.

Temple, TX Academy has sucked since Brian (fisherman/store mgr.) left. The fish'in dept. looks more like what you see at Wal Mart!

FYI - Walmart is upgrading their fishing section, at least out here they have. As an example, they have Falcon Bucco micro guide rods for $122 (less than Academy asks) Skeet Reese rods for $89, upgraded their lure and line section. I never thought I would see it but, I did.



At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

Academy is now owned by Wall St bankers. There will be many changes coming,,,,and probably not all of them will be to our advantage.

academy couldnt get enough units to get a price break. hummingbird will be coming out with their own lake maps and academy will try and carry them.
