Got a chance to fish out of one of these and I was very impressed. Simply the best Kayaks design I have seen. I was suprised at the stability while standing up on the seat (doubles as a fishing platform for sight fishing). From what I understand, KC is a relatively new company that is based out of Louisiana..... Owned and operated by some guys that went to college together. Neat company and a great product.... In my opinion.

wonder if it catches much wind? I like how high the seat is.

Zombie,

They are a pretty tall boat. There is a guy (flyfishingmike) on 2cool that has one. I swear that I have known about these boats for over a year now. It is an intriguing design.

I saw this yak first hand last spring. It's an interesting design and is more of a cat hull than a traditional design. I would compare it more towards the Ride then the Nucanoe.

I would be concerned with how much wind it catches. I would think this boat probably doesn't track as well due to the lack of rear keel, but should be a very maneuverable yak for marsh fishing, which it's probably designed for.

The black seat is removable and if I remember correctly you can move it forward or back to trim your load. Also, The pictures only show the seat in the fishing/poling position. You can actually flip it the other way so that you can sit lower in the kayak for paddling.

KC is "Simply the Best". Been fishing one since last summer on the Hill Country rivers and in the bays near Rockport.

I am new to this website . . . and don't know how to post a picture or two. Maybe someone could give me a little advice. Also, how to create an avatar. Thanks. Let's go fishing.

I have followed up with KC about their yaks. They mentioned that a new model (hull) is under production. Will probably wait to compare the diffrent model before I buy. I am 6'8" and need stability....think this will be my 1st yak!
