I want to say he was using 15 lb. fluro. We were joking around calling it power finesse. But I would try some 15 lb. power pro and just experiment.I really don't think you will get less bites using straight braid but alot of people can't over come the mental game it plays on you. This is just my opinion but I would rather land the 99% of the fish that bite braid then break of fluro.

Bass_Cat_boy Are you fishing around cover? The reason I ask is 10 lb should be sufficient. Ive even gone to 6lb test. You cant break that stuff. I guess it would also depend on your rod. But 10 with a fluorocarbon leader (in clear water) should be the ticket.

Sometimes I wish i never picked that rod up!

If any of y'all throw a shaky on braid let me know some of yallss experiences

Thanks, Dustin
More bites with Fluro. You just need to go up in pound test,if you want to get them out of that cover. Try 12#.

Hey crankbait I'm fishing around cover sunken steel it's rusty so when I get a fish on it's 50/50 if I'm gonna get it in or not, it cuts right through that flouro there's prolly 20 or so bass swimming in lake fork with spot removers stuck in there head from this past weekend,

FZ1' do you throw 12 on a spinning rod, if so what brand,

As far as using braid for it's strenth properties a flouro leader defeats the purpose. The leader is end in the bushes. As far as using braid for sensitivity then a leader for low visibility makes sense if you are one who believes high visability braid equals less bites.

This is what I'm trying to figure out, I use nothing but flouro on my rigs except for my topwaters, I have a ton of confidence in flouro but I am losing key fish where I am fishing die to that rusty metal,

I Pitch it on spinning gear, when my elbow or fingers are injured or hurting. I use Suffix performance braid for backing, then spool just enough FC for Pitching, say 70 feet. I prefer P Line but it does have some memory. Stick with the brand you are using, for starters. Hope this helps

good post, I love the braid for all the qualities other than the strength. IMO its hard to consider strength when you are fishing finesse...but I love that no stretch, high sensitivity, and all the other qualities.

I throw berkley original fireline or fireline crystal on all my finesse and it is the best I have ever used. 8 or 10 pound test.

If I ain't fishing, I ain't happy.
But mostly I'm happy.
I love being retired, the check is in the mail.
