anyone know any places around either freeport or saergent,TX to take my 7 and 10 yr old boys wade fishing .really showing an interest but dont know any places that are around 2 ft deep.

You should check on Google Earth and search for flats/grass lines.

It's not the depth..it's the bottom. Poot mud is really hard on little kids. My dad, uncles and cousins were dragging my 7 year old dumb butt around mud up to my belt...

Flat surf on the beach can be the ticket to them really getting hooked, when it's on hard, they'll have a blast.

Thanks guys gonna try n take them to the south side of christmas bay..looked on google earth n it looks like a nice flat area n im hoping its not to muddy n mushy should be pretty solid sand...hopefully.

Xmas bay is good area for kids.went sun. Mornin & its solid bottom and 1 to 2 ft in alot of areas. Were catchin fish till the rain sent us home....thanks for the info!

Yeah gonna try to get over there in my kayaj..but is there access to it from a road..dont know wut it does in there when tide goes back out..might pull me out in the gulf...not into that ...just dont know wut itll do

dont let them wade fish around the big passes like san luis pass i seen a many of people drown and almost drown on hard coming tides, when i was young , a friend and i waded out to the third bar at san luis, we dident ck the tide times, it started coming in we couldent keep our feet down, me being taller i put jimbo on my sholders , that give me more weight, and we walked back to shore, the water was up to my nose at that time,at the third bar, it was up to my chest at the second bar, at the first bar, it was above my knees, when we went out it was too my knees, i really think we would have drowned if we warent so damm lucky, never seen or felt water so powerful in my life take heed my friend, because the water is not your friend
