Underwater obstruction present between ramp and marked boat lane at 155. If you blast straight out to the channel, be warned.

Man made channel is 3 foot or so deep until it ties into the natural creek channel. Pretty clear from there.

Running the channel up in the pads is fine except one area. Inside corner of marked channel has stump and laydown exposed. It is clearly visible now, but might be worth noting for when the lake is back up! I know I have run there before.

Chuck sorry you found out the hard, way hope you didn't hurt anything. There is a stump between the ramp and the boat lane as well as a concrete culvert next to the first pole.Been there forever.Lots of obstacles in boat lane itself when lake is low.Be careful running boat lane and cutting corners too tight the actual creek is narrow.

Oh yeah. Know about the narrow creek. Assume anyone who fishes up there does too! Also know to swing wide on most of the corners. There was one that runs out pretty far, I just had no idea that that huge piece of wood was on it! Good to note and fish, not so good to run when the water is back up.

Regarding the ramp, I didn't remember that stump from 6 years ago when the lake was down.

We didn't hurt anything, we were putting along until we found something more than 3 foot on the screen.

Try following the creek south with a GPS there are some places it has completely silted in; it just disappears.

Man, we need a hurricane to drop some major water in Texas. Reports I heard, it would take 24" of rain to help.

I might add not to use ramp at
sandy beach either, SAT. I backed my barge into the water and my tandem axle trailer fell off the concrete ramp. with the help of some bass fisherman four of us were to pick the trailer up enough for my wife to drive forward, later I hit a floating log in copeland creek and was ready to load up at point overlook and go fry fish and have a cold one after all that stress and luck-had to thaw out fish first.

Ouch. Thanks for the info on Sandy Beach. Sounds like we may need to modify our trailers like the Caddo boys do. Some of em actually weld up an angled addition to the frame just in front of the tires just in case they drop off the end of the ramp. That way you aren't near as likely to rip off and axle. It can slide on the angled piece. Aluminum boats though.
