I think so but with winter around the corner they will be used less when it's freezing cold out.

My son build his his own rods.
What is the use of the rod?
Micro work best with lite line!

One you build and fish with your own hand built custom rod you will fish with nothing else!

Micro's will work with all but the biggest braids and mono, I use micro's on most rods I build. I build using a standard of #6 butt Guide, #6 choke guide, then run #3.5's all the way to the tip. The hardest part about Micro's is finding tops that fit the bigger tip blanks. about a #6 is all you can find with a size 4 ring.

On a shakey head rod I would build it spiral wrapped, just my opinion.....the tip top being under provides a little more sensitivity.

I've become a fan of Ducketts rods lately and like the micro guides. About my only beef is the guides seem to really get a lot of dirt in them. I fish often at Caddo and the guides have to be cleaned alot more often then they do with standard guides. I do think they are more sensitive and I think they will help with detecting more subtle strikes and hits. Just my 2 cents.
