Park Ranger and KTEN down at the ramp, should be a bit on the news to follow. How do/will/would they keep people off during a holiday?

TULSA, OK (Press Release) – The U.S. Army Corp of Engineers has determined "blue-green algae" is located in portions of Lake Texoma. These areas include the "Treasure Island" portion of Lake Texoma West to the mouth of the Red River including Buncombe Creek and Big Mineral Arm is now under a warning and water contact is prohibited.

Recreation areas included in the warning area include Caney Creek, Buncombe Creek, and Juniper Point. The parks are still open to camping, however, the water is considered unsafe for humans and pets.

In addition, Lake Texoma is also under a lake-wide "blue - green algae advisory". Water contact is discouraged and water may be unsafe for people and pets.
