Tuesday morning the boys just couldnt take it any longer, so they hit the surf around day break. Even though the wind hasnt been blowing much inland, the surf was still anything but flat. The green water was almost up to the sand and guys saw bait so they were still optimistic. By 10am they had boxed 30 solid trout and a lost red. They said early on standing at the bank casting into the first gut was the ticket; as the morning wore on the fish moved out into the second gut forcing them to wade out to the first bar. This they said made the fishing a little sporty. All fish were caught on croaker as the trout just about ripped the rod out of your hand. They guys said if the surf does flatten out that youll be able to catch them on anything. As you can tell, there are plenty of fish out there when the conditions do get right. The bay is just as productive right now without all the waves. The bay fish on average are a little smaller, but then so are the waves. We have a boat open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday if anyone is interested in getting in on this action. (979) 240-5312 or email run-n-gunadventures@hotmail.com for more details. Great report. That surf was just about right. Personally, I've found that if the surf is too flat then the bite will turn off. The fish will typically be in the wade gut at first light but as more sun penetrates the water they move deeper.

Jacob and Nathan hit the surf again late Thursday afternoon. Said the conditions where much better and much easier since there were hardly any waves. The bite wasn't as action packed as the morning bite had been but they were still able to string 10 solid trout. Good luck to everyone hitting the water this weekend!

I like your stuff Daniel, even checked out the website. I've been drooling over these pics since you posted them. Even shared them with a few friends, some of whom know very little about salt. Most, like myself, are awestruck. Dam fine report.
