I have a 1998 225 EFI Mercury Outboard engine. My fuel pump went out again. I just replaced it little over a year ago and $660.00 dollars latter. Now I am back to square one. I dont want to spend that kind of money again. The cheapest Ive found is $420.00. Does anyone know of a place I might be able to find the fuel pump for less.

Thanks

If you are talking about the diaphragm pump then Merc list on it is $116. That's the little square one. For the money you are talking it sounds like the pump in the VST.

Electric fuel pump but be careful. A leak or broken line and the pump don't know to stop. Not sure it will work but about 50 Dollars.

Have you tested the pump? Have seen the pump driver in the ECU fail. Have seen on hot boats where they take the VST off, pre-mix using 1 electric pump (holley red) w/ regulator set to 56psi. Connect with inline fuse to the ignition switch.
