Best place to take the lady out for dinner in SPI. I have a friend that works at Amberjacks so we tried it on our last trip down but it wasn't great, and was pricey. I want great, and the price doesn't matter if its great.

+1

Used to spend a lot of time there, great food, and beer.

It doesn't matter how you find the pot of gold, all that matters is that you beat the leprachaun.

+1,000 P.I.B. is awesome! Great people, food and beer! It's not fancy but never had had a bad meal or service! I'll be there next weekend! My mouth is watering just think'n about it. cheers

There is also a little Italian place on the right as you go into Port Isabel from the island. It's good food, service can sometimes be a little slow.

If you're looking for a place for you and your lady, Scampi's is hard to beat. It's up Laguna Blvd a bit and is a nice place to watch the sunset.

For every other night Padre Island Brewing Co. and Dirty AL's (by Isla Blanca SP) are hard to beat.

King's Inn isn't remotely near SPI.

Just had a HS reunion down there that I couldn't attend ... let's see, the TIFT tournament is going on, so there will be a few thousand extra people there for that ... I usually fish and forget about eating, but have heard good things about PI Brewing and Dirty Al's. I put out a Facebook call to those who attended, will see if they have any recommendations.

This is Texas and everything is relative with distance, the better the food or the prettier the girls makes everything closer!

King's Inn isn't worth the drive, and I was going there forty years ago. Here are a couple more from flip-flops on the ground there - Cap'n Roy's and Jake's.

I always make sure to stop by The Lost Galleon right off of hwy 100 in Port Isabel, it looks like a dive, but I've always thought that little hole in the wall restaurants had the best food. Be sure to take advantage of their all you can eat fish and shrimp lunch or dinner. I personally think its the best in the area.
