That would be one weird sight to see swimming across the lake...I guess the drought has critters doing all kinds of strange things...

hahahaha I saw a doe in the middle of Possum Kingdom a couple of years ago. She was about a mile from shore and kicking away. We thought a boat had lost a tuber so we went over to investigate. No one wanted a deer in the boat so we just watched it swim to the other side, shake off, and walk away. Very interesting day.

I always heard that they cross streams by walking along the bottom. I caught one swimming in Caddo one time and took him home in my livewell. He jumped out of the livewell and the boat and started tearing up the neighbors yard. I caught him and put him in an ice chest and took him with me to a New Years eve party. He was a real hit with the ladies.

We found a black lab swimming in the middle of Lake Grandbury several years ago. We hauled him into the boat and he just collapsed. He wouldnt have made it much longer. Thankfully we got to him in time.

We took him to the nearest dock and after being cussed at a little by the dock owner, he finally started listening to us about the dog. It was his neighbors and he agreed to take it to him.

I always looked for the dog after that when we were in that area, but never saw him again. Hope he didnt make a habit of mid-lake swims and end up as catfish food.
