We haven't been able to fish much for the past couple of years, but we just act like Champs doesn't even exist if they can't make a trip to Toledo. They tried to dangle a little championship carrot out there but we didn't bite! Really haven't missed them at all to be honest with you! Bottom line is that until turnout drops enough to offset what they are paid to go to Rayburn, then they will continue to have all of them on Rayburn. Asking you for a vote is cordial and gives you that warm fuzzy feeling inside, but money drives the show as it should.

I hope Mr. Garrie wins every tournament they have on Rayburn!!

Looking at the results for T-bend and Rayburn divisons for bassin n bucks other than one month they were bascially the same not knowing the weather conditions and such for each event can make one have more one month than the other. During the summer divison so far Rayburn had several more boats than T-Bend. I also think that Basschamps had more boats at every Rayburn event than Bassin Bucks had at any event. Both great trails but saying that T-bend out draws Rayburn is something I would disagree with looking at the numbers. I think it is really cool that Bassn N Bucks has a T-Bend and RayBurn Division if I lived down there I would have to fish both.

Out of 6 tournaments on Toledo and Rayburn..Rayburn outdrew Toledo 4 to 2. The summer series was 76 Rayburn -57 Toledo. There were lots of guys who did not fish the July tournament because of the low lake level and running the boat lanes on Toledo is becoming like a mind field.. eeks unless you are a local and know it well.. BnB in general was way down this pass year on both lakes..probably due to number of tournaments..maybe due to no off limits..

Have to schedule around his MMA stuff?

He owns a couple of buisnesses with one being a MMA/Ju Jitsu school. He is active in that as his whole family is. He also has kids that are getting into sports so he stays busy there too. I can't blame him as he has his priorities in check.

Bob, it's hard to compare the summer tournaments when 2 are on Rayburn and 1 on Toledo, plus most people are not fishing the summer series. However, total entries in the 1st 5 tournaments at Rayburn was 625 and for the 1st 5 tournaments at Toledo was 628. Last time I checked, 628 is greater than 625. I will agree that Toledo is dangerous now, and they should probably consider moving the Bass Champs Championship and Bass-n-Bucks Championship. I'm sure Champs already has that check in their hand for the championship though, so it might be tough to move.

I will be the first to admit that as a genral rule Rayburn will draw 10% to 15% more than Toledo. This has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the fishing at Toledo. I did notice that Champs numbers at Rayburn dropped from an average of 242 teams in 2010 to 212 in 2011. That rate of decline is not sustainable for many consecutive years.

James, losing 30 boats is not bad in these bad economic times. I think they will be ok as long as they pay $20K against B N B $8K for the same entry fee.

The 20k is Bass Champs marketing scheme. Great for them they draw some great teams and usually a great turnout. Usually its the same group of folks on each lake winning or way up in the money. To me they are more of a regular open tourney as there arent many incentives for points or top 10s. Not really a true trail type for me. Not bashing just my opinion.

I agree James, the numbers were almost identical for both lakes. Much closer than I thought. I also agree Toledo does seem to always be left out. I hope Toledo does get some water this winter..or I'm afraid Rayburn will be pounded even more than ever. No doubt Toledo is the best of the two lakes right now.,, Toledo does have lots of oilman txs.

Eric, I'm sure they are going to be fine. I'm not bashing or chosing sides. I think this conversation started when SGIBSON and someone else commented on all of the tournaments being on Rayburn.

Most people like at least some variety. I wouldn't care at all about going to Livingston, but if they would balance it out with a tournament on Lake O' Pines I would consider it. Pines is probably the best tournament lake in East Texas right now. By tournament lake, I mean you can catch a stringer instead of 1 giant and 4 fish.
It's all about choice. If you don't like where they fish, then don't go.

I think the reason there is complaining about Ray Roberts is because it is on the schedule TWICE.. I wouldnt mind toughing out the March event but I just think there are better lakes in the North that they could fish once instead of Roberts twice. If you are going to hit a lake twice, why Roberts? Its the WORST tournament lake on the schdule

I don't understand how you could think its the worst tournament lake on the schedule. Huge cold front messed up the April tournament this year or it probably would have taken 30 pounds to win it (still took 20). Then 28 something won the June tournament. I would say its one of the best north texas lakes. It can be tough to figure out but the fish are definitely there.
