I think Skeet and Kevin are good friends. I know Skeet has stayed at Kevins house when doing seminars for his brothers outdoor show. Skeet just feels he got some redemption by edging out King Kong. The Last two years Skeet got screwed by the B.A.S.S change in rules. KVD was able to make good on this rule change and pull the AOY out from under Skeet at the last minute both times. Sure Skeets got an ego and isn't afraid to run his mouth, but a little article with a few sound bites isn't going to make me "lose all respect" for another man. That being said I hope Ott Defoe knocks him out first day at the river. Ott is on a roll and seems like a real nice and humble guy.

I am not a Skeet fan, and I am a huge KVD fan. If I was Skeet or any other professional angler for that matter, I would want to beat KVD. This sounds like a reporter asking a question to get the response he was looking for and Skeet's huge ego made him take the bait. It doesn't change the fact that he is as cocky as they come. Most anybody else would have the class to deflect the question and not come off as a jerk.

Have we nothing better to do than to sit here and call someone an arrogant prick, especially someone who you only see on TV. Number 1: No one knows the exact context of what he said, and Number 2: Even if he did mean it word for word (which I highly doubt he did, because come on, you really think he doesn't care what happens the rest of the week?, there isn't a single person on here that fishes competitively that doesn't have someone they like to beat more than anybody else. I think it is very childish to call an individual names that you know nothing about. JMO.

I met skeet a couple years back at a fish-n-chips tournament up here and honestly will have to say he has no class. Yes he can fish very well, but the self centered attitude makes him a ....to be around. Jmo.

This reminds me of when Tiger was THE man to beat a few years ago. EVERYONE wanted to beat him at every tournament.

KVD is definitely the best. But I think if any of us had the chance to fish against and beat him, we would make a pretty big deal out of it.

I am going to most likely get smoked here....to me KVD and Skeet are the two best and most arrogant anglers on tour... They have the right to be, I am not a Skeet fan in the slightest bit but saw nothing wrong in his comments! He is excited he beat the guy that stole the AOY trophy from his grips, two years in a row on these same bodies of water!

Heck he is arogant even with the cameras on him I never cared much for him either. But on the other side KVD is one everyone wants to beat he is good gotta give him that.
